So it's been another 4 years since my last post! Went on a trip and hadn't driven the FJ for over a month. Came back to realize I forgot to hook up the battery tender! The battery was 2v! WTF? what drained it down that much. I thought GREAT time to buy another battery. I decided to hook up the battery charger and prayed for luck. The battery was resurrected! Woohoo! Also my yellowtop no longer holds a charge so I was thinking if I can get a hold of an Interstate 24F AGM battery from Costco for $180, I would be saving $130 bucks instead of just getting another Optima Yellowtop. I have already purchased a new battery tray for $11 from Amazon. Will need to figure out how to mount the solenoid and tray onto the wheel fender.
I also replaced the Kenwood headunit I got way back when for $1400 with an ebay Android based head unit. This one allows for Apple CarPlay, and works great because it was built with plug and play for toyota harness and also is the extra large sized screen compatible with the FJ Cruiser radio opening. The only problem I have is that the angle is not quite right, but there is no way to change it unless I redo the whole plastic dash.
