Found a FJ62 and purchased. Friend drove me to go pick it up.
Upon return home found no water in radiator, due to a hose leak. Lucky for me the purchase was in the cold mountains, but noticed the engine fan did turn on.
Poured in about 1/2 bottle of Toyota Red diluted 50/50, and tightened the hose clamps, and now now leak.
There is a slow weeping oil leak, and receipts showed that the previous owner had it addressed twice, but examining the oil pan it looked like a sloppy jub. just hope it's only the oil pan gasket.
Other concerns
1. rust in lower a-pillar on both sides below the side rocker panels
2. shifter wobbles - purchased new bushings
3. chrome bubbling on driver side headlight surround
4. dog hair everywhere
5. small crack on drivers side seat
6. knuckles will need to be addressed
7. oil weeping - need new oil pan gasket
8. oil on undercarriage around transfer case, where is it coming from?
9. Owner stated brakes replaced 2 years ago, may need attention
10. some steering slop, may need to adjust PS or address tre's
11. minor surface spot rust from rock chips
12. Interior lighting is dim, upgrade to LED's
13. need new antennae, stay OEM or get non motorized
14. battery tray on its last legs, need to get new stainless and new battery, currently costco brand
15. rear passenger side tire has one out of place lug nut
16. need all weather mats
17. remove rack for now
18. glove box has dent, replace?
19. need sliders to help wife step in
