Drove in the downpour of Southern California today to see a fellow FJer about his recently removed and minimally used OME 883 springs. Drove to Yorba Linda (never been) via the 210 and 57 and boy was is pouring! When I got there, the sky opened up! Talked shop a bit and looked at his Ti FJ with non hooped Expedition one Front bumper with winch and Donohoe shocks! Was very impressed! The 883's were already mounted on the OEM struts, so one more thing I didn't have to do. If I bought totally new, 883 would be 190 shipped then 30-50 to mount. I would also have the inconvenience of initially removing the current spring/struts, then either recompressing the spring myself or finding someone to do it. This saved me about 1-2 hr, all for only one Benjamin! The next question is do I dare try to install myself or find someone to do it? Dirty Parts in LA wants 225 with 100 alignment. Wonder what Meineke or Firestone would charge!
Plan is to wait for my ARB bumper, install it then decide! Wish me luck!
